A'oleon Broomfield

Aoleon is a guitarist and singer that combines New Orleans Jazz and the Neo African American Folk tradition.  In 2005, New Orleans was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. While displaced in New Iberia, Louisiana A'oleon received her first guitar for Christmas.  In 2010, the self taught guitarist moved back to New Orleans and began performing.  In 2016 she graduated from Delgado Community College with a General Studies Degree with a concentration in music. Ms. Broomfield was a participant in the Water Collaborative's Brackish Artist Collective Cohort 2 in 2025, which inspired her to write more music about issues with the water management system in New Orleans.  As a tree steward with Healthy Community Services, A'oleon advocates for the urban forestry initiative occurring around New Orleans.  At the Cutting Edge Songwriters Camp in August of 2026, the songstress wrote a collaborative uplifting song with her Coach Lilli Lewis and other fellow writers Joe Sims and Uriel of Moon Soda.  A'oleon continues to busk and perform throughout the country.
