What to do in New Orleans

My favorite Deserts in the French Quarter

Hi Everyone.  Here are my favorite spots to get something sweet in the French Quarter.  I made sure to add my recommendations and the website of each place.  Don't forget to check the hours before you go, because they can vary depending on the seasons.  I'll add more places to the blog as I try new places.

Sweet Saint Ice Cream

The staff at Sweet saint is very friendly and they are kind to street musicians.  Every time I go there they try to accommodate me the best they can. Although the store is really small, there is some seating and it's clean.  I never used the bathroom in there so I can't comment on that.  There were 2 vegan ice cream options on the menu that were really good but I think the flavors change seasonally.  The ice cream taste homemade in a good way. It's much better than what you would find at a store or a chain.

My recommendations:  The vegan ice cream is great and the strawberry is my favorite.  I haven't had anything bad from here.

Meyers Frozen Lemonade

Meyers Frozen Lemonade is a mobile stand that serves lemon and watermelon shaved ice.  They allow you to have a free sample and their prices aren't bad and the sizes are pretty generous.  You can look them up and they will actually pull up to deliver some shaved ice to you in the french quarter area.  I've seen the attendants go to the bathroom and not relieve themselves outdoors.  They use hand sanitizer too and the carts look pretty clean.  The mobile stand is bike operated and the attendants share their location while they are in the are.

My recommendation:Get a frozen lemonade with half watermelon and half lemon.

Sucre

Sucre is so cute.  It very well lit with fancy lights and soft pink walls. The staff is really cheery. Its not a very large cafe but it has seating.  Its seems clean in there although I didn't use the restrooms.  When I went they only accepted cards.  I didn't really ask about the ingredients here but when I checked the site it gave a good bit of information.

My recommendations:  The blackberry and cafe au lait macaroons, confetti gelato and lavender latte

There are multiple locations but the one i frequent is the 636 royal st location.
